John Paul II gave the following advice to some pilgrims to Fatima:
“Arrive in Fatima with the Rosary in your hands, the name of Mary on your lips and the canticle of the Mercy of God in your heart”..

A pilgrimage isn’t only setting off and making a physical journey it is also a spiritual journey. To make a pilgrimage is an invitation from God to which we respond with faith. It is a moment of conversion and of listening. I can encourage you to make pilgrimages and I do so because I am convinced of how much good it brings to the soul. But I also encourage you to take seriously a pilgrimage that lasts longer that 2 days, or 2 weeks, or even 2 months. It’s a pilgrimage that lasts your whole life. It is a pilgrimage to your definitive and final encounter with God. Saint Augustine says that the Church«“pilgrims between the persecutions of the world and the consolations received from God». Life is a pilgrimage and we have to begin to walk with enthusiasm, with John Paul II’s advice: the rosary between our hands, the name of Mary on our lips and the canticle of the Mercy of God in our heart. That means to say, accompanied by Mary, invoking Mary, Our Mother, and beneath the merciful gaze of God who is waiting for us.
Along this pilgrimage the Virgin Mary teaches us to always have our gaze lifted up to Heaven, our destiny, and looking at Her.

What Does Our Lady Say to Us?
